Terms & Conditions
The T&C herein aim to give you as much information as possible, outlining the agreement between you and Eco-Dharma Village (herein referred to as Eco-Dharma) for all bookings. Please read them carefully, those who make their reservations automatically accept the following terms and conditions in full.
It is the hosting teacher/practitioner or guest’s responsibility to check the reservation and ensure that the details contained therein are correct.
Eco Dharma lists what is included on each event and retreat’s page. Airfare, transfers, tips and travel insurance are not included.
To reserve attendance to our in-house or guest retreats, kindly complete the registration form for the right retreat/event, along with payment of the non- refundable deposit specific to your retreat.
The reservation will only be confirmed once you receive our email stating form and deposit payment have been received.
Eco Dharma requires a non-refundable, but-transferable (details are shared with each guest and practitioner) deposit of 25% of the total amount due for each person named in the reservation.
The balance due shall be paid to Eco-Dharma not less than four weeks before the start date of the retreat. Bookings made within the last four weeks must be paid in full at time of booking. Payment can be made via bank transfer. Details provided on request.
For third party retreats, if the payment of either the deposit or the balance is not received by the due date Eco-Dharma reserves the right to cancel the reservation, retain deposits already paid and accept new reservations en lieu. Should you need an extension in effecting payments, please contact us via email to discuss the logistics.
Eco Dharma is not responsible for the payment of transfer fees to financial institutions used to make such payments. Eco Dharma must receive the exact amount agreed at the time of booking, regardless of changes in foreign exchange or third party charges at the time of payment or transfer.
If you choose to pay by bank transfer, please inform your bank that all transfer fees owed are chargeable to you.
At the time of payment kindly indicate the name of the yoga retreat and retreat date as a reference. We will contact you to confirm the payment has been received. In the unfortunate event that our emails go missing, please contact us via email or telephone.
Eco Dharma does not store any banking or payment details, not will ever share personal customer information with third parties, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ( GDPR)
Eco Dharma reserves the right to offer discretionary discounts to any guests. This does not affect the status of guests who have paid the full price at the time of booking.
Cancellation by Practitioners/Teachers and Guests
As a Practitioner/Teacher, you can cancel your reservation in writing by email at any point. The cancellation will take effect once Eco-Dharma confirms receipt by email.
In the event of cancellation by a direct Eco-Dharma guest or your (teacher/ practitioner) customer, regardless of the circumstances, the following refund fees, minus the deposit, apply:
The deposit is non-refundable
Cancellation three weeks or less before due arrival date, 0% refund.
Cancellation four to six weeks before due arrival date, 50% refund.
Cancellation more than four weeks before due arrival date, 100% refund.
Any amount forfeited, which has not then been paid to Eco-Dharma by practitioner/teachers, will be debited to the hosting practitioner/teacher.
Refunds are usually effected within 15 working days after cancellation. Once the yoga retreat has begun no refunds will be made.
If a guest needs to leave the retreat early, for any reason, Eco-Dharma cannot be held responsible for compensation. We suggest paying for Travel insurance to support with unexpected events.
Amendments by Eco-Dharma:
Eco Dharma reserves the right to make changes (e.g. schedule or teacher of our retreats). Should changes affect, the delivery of the retreat guests will be informed as soon as possible to make necessary adjustments.
If booking with a third party (practitioner/teachers), their cancellations are not the responsibility of Eco-Dharma Village, and these matters need to be resolved with the teachers whom you booked with. Alternative arrangements will be offered, but we do not accept responsibility for any costs incurred, including airfare.
Cancellation by Eco-Dharma
There is no minimum participation required for Eco-Dharma retreats; to facilitate new practitioner/teachers' retreats.
Should Eco-Dharma need to cancel a retreat (in- house or otherwise), we will refund the full amount at no extra cost to you. However, we cannot be held responsible for any expenses or damages, either direct or consequential, incurred as a result of trip cancellation including but not limited to preparation costs, visa costs, airline tickets, travel documents, vaccination charges, gear purchases, airport and airline taxes or any other expenses.
Eco Dharma is a sacred space built on respect for other humans, nature and animals. Guests shall not use the property except for permitted activities and shall not use the property for any offensive, noisy, dangerous, illegal, entertainment, immoral or improper purposes. Guests shall not do anything which may be a nuisance or annoyance to Eco Dharma’s owners, staff and its guests.
Guests are responsible for minding Eco Dharma’s fixtures, fittings, furniture and effects and keeping them in clean and good condition. Shall damage of any kind occur, the guest will be responsible for replacing any articles which are destroyed or missing with items of the same quality and monetary value.
Breach of terms
Eco Dharma reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate use of the property or any of its facilities by the guest, in the event of any breach of these terms and conditions. The customer will be required to vacate the property immediately, and Eco dharma shall not refund payment or accept any consequential liability damages or loss. For any offence, Eco-Dharma will be prosecuted in accordance with local Law.
All transport costs from your home to Eco-Dharma are not included in our packages unless stated otherwise in the offer.
Eco Dharma is not responsible for any consequence stemmed by cancellations or delays of any travel company you hire or any irregularity in the documentation required for the trip.
Transfers to and from Eco-Dharma are not included unless agreed in the package.
It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has all the relevant travel documentation and arrives at the airport on time.
Eco Dharma cannot accept responsibility for delays or cancellation of any flights, train, buses or other forms of transport.
It is your responsibility to have travel insurance that covers any activity proposed in the yoga retreat that you book as well as potential losses, cancellations, illness or damage and risks. We suggest purchasing travel insurance that includes medical coverage.
Loss or Damage to Personal Possessions
Eco Dharma cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage of personal possessions or valuables during travel or at our property.
We recommend that if you are new to Yoga or other activities, you clear with your medical practitioner that you are fit for activities included in the retreat and those which are optional to guests as extracurricular.
Eco Dharma will not accept any responsibility for physical or psychological damage.
We request that you inform us if you have any health problems before booking your place. If you have health problems that may be affected by the activities of the yoga retreat, Eco-Dharma reserves the right to advise you not to participate in the retreat.
Should guests feel any discomfort, pain or injury during any of the activities on the retreat, the activity must stop immediately.
Although Eco-Dharma will take all necessary measures to ensure high standards of health and safety, we are based in nature and in rural areas, where it is common to have unevenness in the ground, so we are not responsible for injuries suffered as a result.
Guests who are between 12 and 28 weeks of gestation, need to send a written consent letter by their doctor to confirm activities o the retreat has been deemed safe. We suggest that only pregnant women who were active in yoga before pregnancy, attend.
Should participants have any allergies, Eco-Dharma needs to know. We will do our best to prevent contamination of allergens, but we do operate a kitchen that uses nuts, seeds and gluten and cannot take responsibility for severe, life-threatening reactions. The guests must inform the Eco-Dharma of allergies and make certain appropriate medication is carried along. Eco Dharma does not accept any responsibility for any damage injury from medical conditions.
Health and Safety
The customer must comply fully with all and any health and safety regulations introduced by Eco-Dharma. The customer must ensure that he/she is medically and physically fit and able to use our facilities and participate in activities. Customers who have injuries or illnesses are advised to seek a doctor’s advice if practising yoga.
Eco Dharma is not liable for any injuries to the customer in his/her use of our facilities or participation in activities.
Passports, visas and health requirements:
It is the responsibility of all guests to check if any travel documentation such as visas is required.
Travel regulations and health requirements can change frequently, so we recommend that guests check conditions before booking the retreat and travel.
Eco Dharma is not responsible for guests’ failure to ensure the accurate documentation is provided.
If you have any complaints, please inform the Retreat manager as soon as possible. Eco Dharma is not responsible for the behaviour of individual guests, but we will deal in accordance to the terms and conditions specified above, should a person/people in the group cause unease and unrest with the retreat space and its participants.
Eco Dharma retains all copyright licence rights and sole exclusive ownership of the information, photographs and material displayed on its website. The content may not be modified, copied or used in any other way.
Website usage restrictions
Any user of the website has to be 18 years of age or older and agrees to be entirely financially responsible for all charges and other fees arising from the use of the website.
Eco Dharma accepts no responsibility for keeping the website up to date and will not be liable for any loss by its failure to do so. We are not responsible for the contents of any links displayed on our website.
Eco Dharma’s Responsibility and Liability
Eco Dharma is responsible for ensuring that the yoga retreats we share on the website reflect the standard advertised.
Eco Dharma does not accept any liability for cancellations due to the threat of war, terrorist attacks or industrial action, civil strife, closure of airports, natural disaster and other unforeseen circumstances.
Acknowledgement of Risks
Although Eco-Dharma has taken all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of all of its guests, guests acknowledge that any activity comes with risk.
Throughout the trip, participants are responsible for their safety and wellbeing. Before each retreat, participants will be asked to sign a waiver, releasing Eco-Dharma of any liability listed and not, within the Terms and Conditions.
The information contained in this site is for general information on matters of interest. Given the changing nature of the rules, regulations and laws and chance of electronic communication, there may be omissions or misunderstandings on the information contained in this site.
