Janine is an experienced yoga teacher in both the Vinyasa and Yin Yoga/Mindfulness methods with over 13 years of teaching and continued study.  In addition, she is a certified Holistic Health Coach.  Blending coaching with yoga and meditation, Janine cultivates a balanced, deeply thoughtful and inclusive approach to her teaching so that students feel balanced, more embodied and nourished.  This retreat will be a great opportunity to take time to deepen your yoga practice, your relationship with yourself and importantly have time away in a beautiful setting to feel nourished!

5 x nights double or single occupancy accommodation 

2 hour open flow practice in the morning

2 hour afternoon yin yoga/mindfulness practice

Short evening meditation after dinner to help settle the body and mind for the night

  • The retreat will start on Saturday June 20th till Thursday the 25th.

  • Flights and Transfers are not included but we can assist with organising car rentals, public shuttles to Arcos de Valdevez or we can book a group coach if it suits.

Meet Janine

Janine Tandy grew up with sports and outdoor activities being a huge part of her life. In 2001, she re-focused herself lifestyle and physical well-being after a sports injury and health issues, realizing that she needed something more than just a physical workout, something that provided a more holistic experience. She attended her first yoga class at this time and had the “Ah ha” moment. Since then, Janine has spent the past 17 years developing her personal practice and teaching through daily asana, pranayama, meditation practice and continuing study. She feels deeply blessed to have met her Vinyasa teachers whom she trained under, Jude English and Isaac Pena 13 years ago, and studied with them through their Sankalpah Teacher Training, many focused workshops, and regular practice. Through their guidance and support, she has developed a deep understanding of sequencing and focused alignment while incorporating breath work and meditation.  She continues to develop many aspects of her teaching, both stillness and movement, now in the UK

Janine has broadened and complimented her yoga study by enrolling in Sarah Power’s 500 hr Insight Yoga teacher to explore the areas of depth psychology, meditation and yin study. She also holds a Level 1 Therapeutic Yoga teacher certification with Cheri Clampett and Arturo Peal and she is a certified Level 1 and 11 yin yoga teacher. The blend of several yoga practices, nutrition and coaching experience provides Janine with a well-rounded philosophy to well-being and health maintenance.
